The Day-to-Day:

Your days will be dynamic and engaging: meeting with business owners, analyzing financial data, structuring loan proposals, and presenting recommendations to our loan committee. You will collaborate with your team, sharing insights and brainstorming creative solutions. Proactively seeking out new business opportunities and connecting with potential customers will be part of your routine. You will be actively involved in community events and networking opportunities, building relationships and representing High Plains Bank. And of course, you'll be regularly checking in with your customers, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive.

What you bring to High Plains Bank:

Experience:

  • Experience in commercial and agricultural lending

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong credit analysis and underwriting skills, with the ability to evaluate financial statements, cash flow, and collateral.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of commercial loan products and structures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for helping businesses succeed.
  • Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Experience with CRM software and loan origination systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant banking regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Active involvement in community organizations and business networks.

Responsibilities of the position:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial loans, including monitoring performance, identifying potential risks, and taking appropriate action to mitigate losses.
  • Conduct thorough credit analysis and underwriting of new loan requests.
  • Prepare loan presentations for loan committee, providing clear and concise recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, providing exceptional customer service and guidance.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business relationships within the community.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in community events and networking opportunities to generate new business and promote High Plains Bank.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective loan processing and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the lending department and High Plains Bank by achieving team goals and embodying our core values.

Target compensation range

  • $75,000 to $85,000 per year based on experience and qualifications - other factors may be considered

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Location and Schedule

  • In person at our Keenesburg, CO location
  • 8-5 Monday - Friday
